Fickle Pickles (Slow Cooked) Italian Beef Sandwich
Fickle Pickles Beef Sandwich is a hearty meal that’s easy to make! Try our new recipe this week to keep dinner simple and delicious. This recipe is for a large batch that makes 8-10 servings – perfect for a big family dinner!
INGREDIENTS:
- 3 or 4 Lb. Chuck Roast
- 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
- 2 C. Beef Broth
- 1 C. Fickle Pickles Juice
- 1 Packet Dry Italian Dressing Mix
- 2 Tsp. Coarse Grind Black Pepper
- French Rolls for Sub sandwiches
- Sliced Provolone Cheese
- Fickle Pickles
- Red Onion, thin sliced
- Spicy Brown Mustard or Mayonnaise
DIRECTIONS:
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium high.
- Add roast and brown on all sides, about 2 min per side.
- Remove roast and place in crock pot.
- Add a little beef broth to deglaze skillet.
- Add broth and browned bits to crock pot.
- Next, sprinkle pepper and dry Italian dressing mix over roast.
- Add beef broth and Fickle Pickles juice.
- Set crock pot to cook on either LOW for 8 hours or high for 4 1/2 hours.
- Remove roast after fully cooked, place on heat safe surface and shred meat (use caution while hot).
TO MAKE SANDWICH:
- Pre heat oven to Full Broil.
- Slice rolls just enough to open bread up without fully separating and add 2-3 slices of provolone cheese.
- Place on cooking sheet and toast under broiler for 2-3 minutes.
- Add spicy mustard or mayo if desired after removing bread from oven.
- Top with a generous amount of shredded roast, Fickle Pickles and red onion.
